About us

We help children become creative thinkers who are unafraid to think outside the box.

At Buzz Through Maths, we believe that children learn best through hands-on, practical experiences.

Our engaging activities are designed to help children develop a deep understanding of maths and numbers, laying a strong foundation for their future learning and success.

We aim to build children’s confidence in solving mathematical problems while encouraging them to become observant, creative thinkers who aren’t afraid to explore and take risks.

In addition to maths, Buzz Through Maths also offers support with early writing and reading, particularly for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

We are passionate about helping every child thrive by making learning meaningful, fun, and accessible to all.

Maths in the Kitchen

In our baking club, children do much more than just follow recipes. They measure ingredients, estimate quantities, time and explore fractions in real life. They read scales, calculate portions, and adjust recipes, all while working together to build collaboration and problem-solving skills. This is maths in action, with delicious results.

When children bake, they see how maths connects to real life. Accurate measuring makes better cakes. Poor timing leads to burnt cookies. These consequences make maths meaningful. Suddenly, children start to care about getting it right. That sense of purpose boosts their confidence and encourages them to keep learning.

Learning and having fun

Through baking, art, and games, children engage their senses, follow instructions, and solve problems together. These types of experiences don’t just make learning fun but also deepen understanding and strengthen memory far more effectively than traditional methods.

When maths is taught in a playful, low-pressure environment, children begin to see themselves as capable, confident problem-solvers. And once they believe that about themselves, they carry that mindset into other areas of their learning and life.

At my tutoring sessions and our baking club, I combine creativity with curriculum. I show children that maths isn’t something to fear but it’s something to enjoy. By turning learning into play, we help children to love maths.

When children have fun, they thrive and that’s where real learning begins.

Founder

I’m the founder of Buzz Through Maths, and my journey into early maths education began long before the business was born. Originally from Slovakia, I moved to England after completing my degree in Special Education. I’ve always believed that children learn best when they feel happy, supported, and engaged.

Over the years, I retrained as an Early Years Teacher and have worked with many children, supporting their development through play. While working as a supply teacher, I noticed how often children struggled with simple maths concepts. Not because they couldn’t understand, but because the teaching didn’t connect with how young minds learn.

That’s when Buzz Through Maths started to take shape, born from a desire to make maths more accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for every child.

When children are encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace, they develop into motivated, independent thinkers who enjoy learning.
